Slimming World Pizza

Who loves pizza? 

Me, I don’t mind a pizza every now and then, sometimes I really want pizza but either
A. Don’t want to ruin my diet OR
B. I can’t afford to fork out £15 on a Dominos pizza

So when the call for a margarita or meat feast comes I do like to make my own at home – this version being Slimming World friendly!


Recipe as follows for one pizza…


Serves 4

Pizza Base
125g Strong White or Wholemeal Flour

7g Sachet Dried Yeast
Pinch of Salt
Lukewarm Water

Mozzarella Cheese

Tomato Puree
Fresh Basil

The Dough- To make the pizza dough, in a bowl put the strong flour, on one side of the bowl put the yeast and on the other side of the bowl put the salt. Stir them all together and make a well in the centre.

In the well pour around 70ml of the lukewarm water, mix it with the flour, adding a little more water if needed to create a dough. Once you have your dough you need to knead it on a floured work surface for around 5 minutes. (or if you have a machine with a dough hook attachment, let it mix for 5 minutes.)

Spray the bowl you used with frylight and place the dough in the bowl, cover with cling film and place in a warm place to rise for around and hour, or until double in size.
(Spraying the bowl with frylight means the dough will come out easy once it has risen)

Fresh Basil, Mozzarella, Tomato Puree


Topping the Pizza– Once your dough has risen by twice its size, it is time to roll it out. Roll the dough on a floured surface to the size you would like.

Roll the dough to desired length

Place your dough onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Then spread the tomato puree all over the base.

Using a spatula helps spread the tomato puree evenly

Once you have covered your base with tomato puree you can then add your toppings.

I used ASDA Chosen By You light mozzarella which you can have 70g as a Healthy Extra A choice.  The pizza serves 4, so put you can put up to 4 portions of cheese on the pizza. If you are serving the pizza for two then put 2 portions of cheese.

I only put around 100g of mozzarella on one pizza.

Top the Pizza with cheese and fresh basil

Top the pizza with some fresh basil and it is ready to go into the oven!

Place the pizza into an oven on 180 degrees C and cook until the base has browned and the cheese has melted.

I made the Pizzas for a taster session at group and cut it all into bite size pieces.

The Syns for the Pizza (using cheese as Hexa) are:
Whole Pizza– 23
Half Pizza– 11
Quarter Pizza– 5.5

I think next time I may add more toppings to my pizza and serve it with syn free wedges and a tasty mixed salad.
